How Do I Start A Freedom Business?

By Eric Henderson

Thinking you may want to start a freedom business? A lifestyle business that gives you fulfillment and income at the same time?

When done right, there is nothing quite like getting to build a business the gives you freedom. That's what a lifestyle business is all about.

It's been called a "Lifestyle Business", "Freedom Business", "Passive Income Lifestyle", Being a Founder, and Lifestyle Design, but they all mean the same thing: a business that you start because you want freedom and enjoyment in your life.

One thing that many of my clients and colleagues have in common is that they are avid travelers, and there is no better way to accomplish this than to start a freedom business.

Now it took me years to understand that this was what I was supposed to be doing, but my personality is completely centered around personal freedom and lifestyle. I was just absolutely destined for it.

You may be thinking about how to start a freedom business because you want to re-organize your business and life so you have more freedom, but also more income.

So what is a Freedom Business - A Lifestyle Business, defined as? 'Lifestyle Business' is defined as "a small business in which the owner is more anxious to pursue interests that reflect his or her lifestyle than to make more than a comfortable living."

That's dictionary.com's definition - and now that you have a better understanding of what this type of business is all about, I want to lay out the five main criteria that a lifestyle business should have in order for you to be free and fulfilled in your life.

Work once AND profit forever. How much you earn is not correlated with how often you work.

You should be able to earn at least $10,000 a month (or more).

Your business shouldn't cost any more than $500 to get started, and you should be able to start part time.

It can be done from anywhere in the world, on your own schedule.

Now this is actually a bonus point - your business should actually help people.

My favorite freedom business, and one that meets all my criteria, is Empower Network.

So, your action steps when finding and defining your ideal lifestyle business are:

Decide and then define what the outcome is.

1.Write or plan out what your ideal life looks like.

2. Know how much it's going to take to get there.

3. Choose your path and then consistently take action.

4. Find a system that is already proven to be successful, and shortcut your work.

5. Get a coach, mentor, or a model that you can use - or better yet, combine all three.
